Bandha Khet (Mortgaged Farm) is the story of the struggle of a tribal farmer (Nirlen) to get back his mortgaged farm from the moneylender. Nirlen emotionally attached to the land, goes to the moneylender to negotiate the terms of the loan but the moneylender refuses and instead asks for the due money. With a broken heart, Nirleen goes to his uncle who suggests him to sell his oxen and return the money and promises to lend him his oxen for farming. Nirlen is passionately dreaming of getting back the land of his forefathers. He sells his cycle and finally the oxen but despite all the efforts made by him all his dreams are shattered in the end.
